TRAINEE
I'm Phan Huy Giang, I come from Vinh Phuc province. I graduated from Hanoi Medical University with Medical Doctor's degree in General Doctor. I have learned and practiced the diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases. I'm currently in a Master's course at the Department of Biochemistry, Hanoi Medical University. I have experience in many fields of Medical Research such as Clinical Medicine, Clinical Laboratory Quality Management, Genetic and Imunostem Cell, and Therapy. I'm interested in passionate about Cancer Genetic and Stem Cell Research and Therapy, a promising future field in the early diagnosis and treatment of patients with Cancer disease. Now, Under the supervision of Prof Thinh Tran Huy, I'm working to detect variants associated with a disease that is specific to Vietnamese People belonging to the VGP project composed by Vingroup Vin Big Data Institute and Hanoi Medical University. The project aims to build a Vietnamese reference genome database and design SNP chips for the early diagnosis of diseases.
Prior to joining GeneStory, I worked as a Senior Bioinformatics analyst at the Center of Biomedical Informatics, VinBigdata Institute. In 2018, I was the key member of the 1K Vietnamese Genome project (1KVG) responsible for the quality control protocol and troubleshooting different problems of the analysis tasks to process the Whole Genome Sequencing data. I have written plenty of in-house scripts (in the shell script, java, python, R) for different data processing workflows to run on-premises HPC and perform genomic data analysis on the joint-cohort variant callset. In 2021, I joined the type 2 diabetes project (VinT2D) and worked on the genetic risk score calculation, transferred model for risk prediction modeling, and PRS application for genetic testing. Under the supervision of PhD. Nguyen Thuy Duong and PhD. Vo Sy Nam, I joined the VGP project and contributed to the model construction of chronic disease risk prediction.
